Replacing Negative Thoughts

Negative thoughts don’t do anyone any good. They bring down your mood and outlook which in turn makes the entire day seem longer and less enjoyable. They also keep you from doing your best or being your best.  If you want to be more successful and happier in general you have to get rid of some of those dragging and nagging thoughts.

Here are a few ways to drop some of those negative thoughts…
1. Listen to your favorite song
2. Go somewhere you love to go or somewhere you haven’t been but always wanted to see.
3. Grab one of your favorite books or a new book you know you’ll love.
4. Take a nap.
5. Spend time with your loved ones. Friends, family, all of the above.
6. Spend some time doing one of your favorite hobbies. Playing music, taking photos, writing, etc.
7. Write your thoughts down on paper and then throw them away.
8. Cook one of your favorite meals.
9. Go for a walk.
10. Get or give a hug.

3 Dreams You Need To Succeed

Everyone dreams. Maybe not nightly adventures in their sleep or daydreams about being somewhere far away, but you have dreams.  I am talking about the hopes and dreams you have for the future.  Believe it or not these are extremely important when it comes to your success.  Dreams let you realize that anything is possible and that you want more than most people ever try to get.  Here are the three most important dreams you can ever have.

1. The professional freedom dream.  If you could get paid to do anything, what would it be?  Is it a part of the job that you currently have?  Is it a job that you are hoping to get?  Is it a job that you are going to have to create?  This dream helps direct you towards happiness in your professional life.  Repeating this dream will help you make smart moves and notice the best opportunities to get you moving towards your end goal.

2. The family fun dream.  How much time do you want to be able to have with your family?  How close are you to getting there?  What fun things do you want to be able to do with your family?  How close are you to doing those things?  This dream helps you focus on the most important thing in the world, your family and your relationship with them.  Create a very specific picture like, “I want to take 2 big vacations and a few long weekends away with my family every year, and I want to be home to have dinner every night and breakfast every morning.”  Keeping this dream in mind will help you balance your work and family top achieve maximum happiness.

3. The personal achievement dream.  You have your career on the right track and things couldn’t be better with your family, but what are you doing for yourself?  This isn’t a selfish questions at all.  When you think about it, no one knows you better than you, and no one spends more time with you than you.  It is important that you have dreams for yourself.  These can be as small as reading a collection of books or as big as climbing Mt. Everest.  What have you always wanted to do?  What makes you happier than anything else in the world?  If you loved playing guitar as a kid, pick it back up, I bet you still love it.  If you really wanted to learn how to swing dance like a pro then grab your partner and head to a class.  Life is to short to let those things stay in your dreams.

The only thing keeping your dreams from being a reality is time.  If you have you know what you want and you take every opportunity you can, your dreams will come true and you will be a lot happier than the guy or gal who says they “Don’t Dream”.
